Each year over the Memorial Day weekend, American Legion Auxiliary (ALA) Unit 56 distributes poppies as a reminder of all our fallen veterans.
During Memorial Day weekend, members of ALA Unit 56 can be found distributing poppies to raise funds to support veterans, active-duty service members and their families.
You can find Unit 56 members supporting the poppy mission at two locations in our local area from 9 AM to 1PM each day:
- Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel Visitor Center
- Cape Charles Veterans War Memorial
